When Los Angeles Clippers not only declined his player option speculation began to swirl that his time in Clipperland was coming to an end. It was also listed in addition to opting out when he would also take meetings with other teams.
All the speculation, rumors ( and in some cases, wishful thinking) can now be shut down. According to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes, Leonard is going to re-sign with the Clippers and terms are being worked out.
Now while this is certainly great news for the Clippers organization and the fans when we were actually see Kawhi on the court again is unknown. Leonard suffered a partially torn anterior cruciate ligament in game four of the conference semifinals series against the Utah jazz that cost him the last eight games of the postseason.
He had surgery to repair it last month.
Last year was another strong one for Kawhi, he put up 24.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game on .512/.398/.885 shooting splits.
